The Engineering Technician is a technically skilled support function of the engineering department, and the project life-cycle of gas compressor package orders within McClung Energy Services. This role is responsible for supporting the design and technical documentation process, performing BOM coordination, researching technical information, and creating documentation as needed.
Works within databases to manage drawings, material specifications, and Bills of Material.
Creates unit data manuals and technical document sheets.
Assists with engineering related investigations and collaborates with internal departments to provide solutions and support.
Supports the creation and validation of “as built” drawings and specifications.
Performs various data collection tasks on the fabrication floor
Assists with the specification and validation of engineered components for project completion.
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in a technical field with 3+ years of experience.
Experience with business ERP systems.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings (GAs, P&IDs).
Experience with creating and managing technical documentation and data sheets
Experience with PDF and Microsoft Office programs
Experience with sizing, designing, and drawing gas compressor packages, or working in an applications/order management role within the natural gas compression industry.
Exceptional writing skills and ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports and interpret technical details to internal and external stakeholder’s who may lack a technical background.
Experience with project design/planning, material specifications, and State and Federal codes during the development of gas compression packages.

Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder

Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens
The Engineering Tech works 90% of the time in an office (climate controlled) or manufacturing environment (non-climate controlled) and 10% of the time in the field or on customer visits.
The Engineering Tech is expected to be able to walk, stand, stoop or climb ladders in the process of fulfilling his or her position responsibilities.
