Position Overview:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator works out of the Permian Regional Office in Midland, Tx and coordinates activities required to promote health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
- Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations as they apply to the organizations operations, including but not limited to: OSHA and EPA
- Assist in the achievement of meeting company goals and initiatives, profitability and productivity requirements
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices
- Implement employee-training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring, customer demands, and use of safety equipment, including authorized level training
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative measure where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
- Ensure compliance with timely reporting as required by customers, state, and federal health safety regulations and statues
- Maintain environmental reports and reporting (i.e. including Storm water permits, SPCC, etc.)
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis with corrective actions
- Partner with peers and peer organizations to develop a safety culture and encourage open dialog.
- Manage work related incidents with a focus on case management
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules
- Other various projects and task as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study or 2 years’ of work experience in safety
- Proficiency in HSE reporting systems such as ISNetworld and PEC
- Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated record of success
- Direct experience managing HSE in multisite manufacturing or field operations
- Self-motivated individual with a bias toward action
- Excellent written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft word and excel.
- History of credibility in mentoring and forging positive working relationships with the operations team, plant staff and leadership team
- Must be able to be “on-call” for emergencies when necessary.
- Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
- Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to communicate verbally using a telephone
- Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with controlled temperatures
- Subject to outdoor environment with adjusting temperatures and climate
- Ability to travel 70% with or without prior notice
